Butterflies in the Sunrise

Three performative acts

The interdisciplinary ensemble of Hasimta Theatre

Directing, text, music and movement: Idan Zilberstein

Three stories about three women in their search for freedom.

A laboring mother wishing to free her child before its birth,

A girl reclaiming fire from the decadent high-class society

A vanished woman turns into a leader of the resistance force against a tyrannical regime.

Layers of narrative, visual and physical work, music, video, light and sound pose the question: why does one need freedom?

"Butterflies in the Sunrise" came together through research and the quest for a contemporary theatrical language. In recent months, the ensemble has founded a line of parties, Zagopa Party, which feature performative segments.
