Ballet Győr | Hungary

The performance is part of the events of the Hungarian Cultural Year in Israel.

The Ballet Company of Győr, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, will perform in one special evening the Bolero by Ravel, choreographed by András Lukács, and Piano – a work by the choreographer László Velekei to the music of Franz Liszt, performed by the renowned pianist János Balázs.

The Company made its 1979 début in the National Theatre in Győr under the leadership of Iván Markó. The company soon became popular and today is among the most significant troupes in the Hungarian dance world. Its repertoire covers almost every genre of dance from classical ballet to contemporary dance, dance-theatre to children's productions. The company has received international acclaim in its travels abroad: at the La Scala in Milan, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Joyce theatre in New York, Austria, Germany, Japan, China, India, Russia and the United States.
