DOUBLE OPERATION

DOUBLE OPERATION

The Mandel Cultural Center asked artists Itzik Giuli and Ido Feder to present their work in the venue’s spaces. The works were created as part of the Operation project - a project that aims to bring together different fields of arts with opera and vocal music.
Management and production: Ingi Rubin.
Executive producer: Yael Dahan

Pink Darkness (Or maybe it's about Victor and Binyamin)

What is the meaning of being born into a system? How does large systems’ force of temptation operates on smaller systems? And what forces operate on the same infinite “reproduction system”? Itzik Giuili presents a space whose function is between a temple and a storage for symbolic and expressive objects, where questions regarding the forces affecting us from outside and inside, aspiring to progress in a cycle of construction and destruction, echo. Between them - the individual’s inevitable need for positioning himself and his movement in space through identity, assimilation, deconstruction and getting lost.
Partners in this work are visual artists Lee Nevo who actively performed the installation and light artist Yoav Barel.

It Itches

In the near future, dancing will become an experience to be traded in, consulted with, prostituted, presented as an object in a museum's white cube. Indeed, then dancing will resemble the body that is no longer heard aloud. A voice, that’s no longer civilian, but of a machine.
